1. How do I register?
Registration is completed right on this website.

2. When is payment due?
Payment is due at the time of registration. We offer payment plan options.

3. What are the payment plans?
We offer two payment plans:

  • Pay in full at registration.

  • Pay over 2 or 4 payments (first payment is due at registration).

4. When does the season start?
Football practices begin in late July, and games start in late August. Games are held every weekend (except for bye weeks) through October.

5. Where do you hold your practices?
Practices are held at the practice fields next to Wilson Elementary School loop.

6. When are practices held?

  • Late July/August: Practices are Monday-Thursday from 6:00–8:00 p.m. (weather permitting).

  • After school starts: Practices are Tuesday-Thursday from 6:00–7:30 p.m.

7. Is someone required to stay with my child at practice?
Yes, someone must be present due to weather or injury concerns. There is a mandatory parents meeting at the first practice.

8. Where do you play your games?

  • Home games are at Walter J Hutchison Field at Wilson High School.

  • Away games are played against other NEYSA teams in Niagara County and northern Erie County.

9. When are games played?
Games may be on Friday nights, anytime Saturday, or Sunday.

10. What are the maximum weight limits for football?
There are no maximum weight limits for football, but players above a certain weight must participate as "stripers" and play certain positions. The weight limits are:

  • Mini: Above 95 lbs

  • Freshman: Above 115 lbs

  • JV: Above 140 lbs

  • Varsity: Unlimited weight, no stripers.

Please ask your head coach for more specific details on the striper rules.

11. How much does it cost to participate?

  • $125 registration fee

  • $25 volunteer fee per participant

  • $100 in raffle tickets (money raised from selling tickets can go towards registration fees, or you can turn them in with your name).

12. What is the service fee?
The service fee encourages volunteer participation. Volunteers who help with tasks like serving in the concession stand, coaching, or managing a team can earn credit towards end-of-year banquet tickets by volunteering for 2 hours.

13. What is the raffle?
WYF offers the lowest registration fees for football and cheerleading in Western New York. To keep costs low, you will receive $100 in raffle tickets. You can sell the tickets to recoup your registration cost, or submit them with your name.

14. What equipment will I need to purchase?

  • Football players: WYF provides helmets, shoulder pads, and rib guard pads. Families must purchase a personalized jersey (if needed, ordered at registration).

  • You must also purchase black football pants with integrated pads, cleats, athletic supporter/cup, and a mouthpiece with tether for the helmet. A practice jersey is recommended but not required.
